About me

I’m a painter based in Stockholm, Sweden. The technique I use is mostly painting with acrylic colours. However, the surface being painted varies from cardboard, canvas and paper to wood and steel plates. I have no real formal education in painting, something I’ve never felt the need for. Picasso summed it up best when he said: Art is the elimination of the unnecessary.

First exhibition 1997
I had my first exhibition back in the 90´s (1997). Even though it really was my first I wasn’t very focused or serious as an artist, which maybe is what can be expected of a 20-year old boy. So you could say I’ve had two first exhibitions. My second first was held in the winter of the year 2000, just a few weeks after the oh-so-hyped millenia that we all seem to have survived. It was called “Anxiety etc.” and was a huge success for me.

More exhibitions
In the years that followed I continued on developing my art. In the fall of 2001 I had my next exhibtion called “Soulfood“. Two years later I had my biggest exhibition yet which featured more than 50 paintings and artwork, it was called “Get drunk“.

Another two years flew by, in which I only displayed paintings in smaller art galleries and coffee places, and in the fall of 2005 I had my most recent exhibtion, “Master of the situation“. For this exhibition I had stopped painting on canvas and now worked with old rusty steel plates.

Recent work and plans

Since 2005 I’ve done sporadic art work with no new exhibtion in mind. There is a plan, but I’m not telling. Soon enough there will be some kind of art show/exhibition.

In 2006 I did a collaboration with another artist, Christina Englund. It was an experiment with two different styles. We worked on the same painting, but never at the same time. We made sure our only interaction during the months it took to make the painting was made in paint.

In 2007 and 2008 I continued working on old steel plates. This time I didn’t use colours at all. Instead I worked with acids making real rust. This project is still something I work on from time to time. I have no idea as to when I’ll be finished.

New exhibition november 2010

I will be having a brand new exhibition in november 2010 in Stockholm, Sweden.
